This module explores how Christians have understood the Church (ecclesiology) in relation to Israel and the Jewish people. We will look at biblical images of the people of God, how the Church has thought about its identity through history, and how Jewish-Christian dialogue challenges and enriches our understanding of the Church today. Together we will reflect on what it means to be the people of God in light of scripture and God’s continuing covenant with Israel.
